Creating Quiz Surveys

Transform your surveys into interactive quizzes with automatic scoring, correct answer validation, and instant feedback for respondents.

Enabling Quiz Mode

Open your survey in the editor
Go to Settings > Survey Options
Toggle Quiz Mode on
Configure scoring options

Setting Up Questions

Defining Correct Answers

For each question type, you can specify the correct answer:

Multiple Choice & Dropdown:

Click the star icon next to the correct option
Only one correct answer allowed

Checkboxes:

Mark all correct options with the star icon
Respondent must select all correct options (and no incorrect ones) to score

Text Questions:

Enter the exact correct answer
Optionally enable case-insensitive matching
Add multiple accepted variations

Point Values

Assign points to each question:

Click on a question
In the right panel, find Points
Enter the point value (default: 1)
Set partial credit options if desired

Scoring Options

Scoring Methods

Simple Scoring:

Each correct answer = assigned points
Total score = sum of correct answers

Weighted Scoring:

Assign different point values per question
Important questions worth more

Partial Credit:

For checkbox questions
Award points for each correct selection
Optionally deduct for incorrect selections

Passing Score

Set a minimum score to pass:

Go to Settings > Quiz Options
Enable Passing Score
Set as percentage or point value
Customize pass/fail messages

Feedback Options

Immediate Feedback

Show correct answers after each question:

After Each Question - Instant feedback
After Each Page - Feedback per section
After Submission - All feedback at end
Never - No feedback shown

For each question, customize:

Correct answer explanation
Incorrect answer explanation
Links to learning resources
Additional context

Answer Key

Choose what to reveal:

Correct answer only
Respondent’s answer
Explanation
Points earned

Results Display

Respondent Results Page

After submission, respondents can see:

Total score and percentage
Pass/fail status
Question-by-question breakdown
Correct answers (if enabled)
Time taken (if timed)

Customize Results Page

Go to Settings > Thank You Page
Enable Show Quiz Results
Select which elements to display
Add custom pass/fail messages

Timed Quizzes

Add time limits:

Go to Settings > Quiz Options
Enable Time Limit
Set total time allowed
Choose timeout behavior:
- Auto-submit
- Warning only
- Extend time

Question Randomization

Prevent cheating by randomizing:

Question Order - Different sequence per respondent
Answer Order - Options shuffled
Question Pool - Select random subset

Attempt Limits

Control retakes:

Unlimited attempts
Single attempt only
Limited number of attempts
Require waiting period between attempts
